Power Mapping: A Workshop to Help People Create Change

  • A Power Mapping Workshop is designed to help organizations and advocacy groups strategically identify key decision-makers, influencers, and pathways to achieve their campaign goals. It is a structured exercise that enables participants to:

    • Identify Key Players – Map out individuals, organizations, and institutions that have influence over the issue or decision they are trying to impact.

    • Analyze Relationships – Understand the connections between stakeholders, including allies, opponents, and neutral parties, to determine the best engagement strategies.

    • Assess Influence & Interest – Determine which stakeholders have the most power and how supportive or opposed they are to the advocacy goal.

    • Develop Targeted Strategies – Identify the best ways to approach and persuade key decision-makers using data-driven insights and coalition-building tactics.

    • Strengthen Coalition Building – Find potential partners, allies, and supporters who can amplify the campaign’s impact.

    • Prioritize Actions – Focus resources on the most effective tactics to move key stakeholders and decision-makers toward the desired outcome.

  • This workshop is available both in-person and online. As a standalone training, it runs for three hours. However, if an organization wants to apply the training to an actual campaign, the workshop expands to a half-day session.

    Mobilization Workshop

    • Our comprehensive training for active campaigns. This workshop is designed for groups with an active or pending legislative (non-partisan, bi-partisan, or partisan) or social impact campaigns.

    Advanced Mapping

    • Our comprehensive training with advanced research prepared by our policy research team. Our team will conducted advanced research for use during your power-mapping workshop to help inform your work.
